Introduction: Harry Potter was a great series which encapsulated the attention of many, many,  many, people . The books were very intrusting, and so were the movies , but that’s nothing compared to the  Harry Potter facts.  Here are some amazing facts about the Harry Potter series!

Facts about the headmaster

Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts. A great character in the book series & movies. But sadly , the actor (Richard Harris) that played Dumbeldore in the movies died after the Chamber of Secrets, he died at 72 years old. The second actor was named Micheal Gambon. 

Hermione Granger facts:

Emma Watson ( The actress who played Herminone ) almost left the franchise because she wanted to pursue her education.  The stunt double for Emma Watson was Flick Miles. Hermione Granger’s middle name is Jean. This video states Hermione’s star sign is virgo. Hermione’s birthdate is September 19th 1979.  Hermione would be 43 years old if she was a real person. Emma Watson was 10 years old in the first Harry Potter movie. The pronunciation of Hermione is HER-MY-O-KNEE.  The name of Hermione’s wand is “ Dragon Heartstring Core”. Hermione’s surname was almost PUCKLE. When Hermione slaps Draco Malfoy in third movie,Prisoner of Askaban. That was indeed a REAL SLAP.

 Harry facts 

The actor that played Harry Potter was  Daniel Roddcliff. who 

Harry Potter’s birthday ( July 31st)  is the same day , as J.K. Rowling’s birthday. The website  MF states that Daniel Roddcliff  (Harry Potter), was allergic to the glasses and they caused him to break out in acne.  Harry Potter also shares a name with his great grandfather.  Harry’s wand was  “Holly Phoenix “. Four different owls played Harry Potter’s owl : Hedwig. Harry’s middle name is James.

Ron Weasley facts:

Ron’s full name is Ronald Biluis Weasley. Ron was played by Rupert Grint. Ron’s pet rat Scabbers was played by over a dozen rats over the course of the movies. Ron is Harry’s best friend. He was born on March 1st 1980. When Rupert sent an audition tape for Ron, and he didn’t get a response back, he sent his next audition tape featuring a rap.

Ginny Weasley facts:

Ginny Weasley was Ron’s sister. Ginny was played by Bonnie Wright.  Ginny married Harry Potter, their kids names were : James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter, and Lily Luna Potter.

Ginny’s full name is Ginerva Molly Weasley. Ginny is the only girl in the Weasley family.  Bonnie  Wright had no experience acting when she auditioned for Ginny. Ginny was the youngest person in the Weasley family. When Ginny graduated from Hogwarts she became a professional quidditch player.After retiring from  quidditch, she became a “Senior Quidditch Reporter” for the Daily Prophet, before becoming their official sports editor. Bonnie Wright’s favorite Ginny quote is : “ Good Luck”.  Ginny and Voldemort’s wands share the same wood.

Luna Lovegood Facts :

Harry named  his daughter after Luna .

Her full name is Luna Elizabeth Lovegood. Luna was played by

Evanna Lynch in the movies. Luna was born on February 13 1981. Luna would be 40 years old if she was a real person. Luna Lovegood first appears in “ The order of the Phoenix”. Luna’s original name is “ Lily Moon”. The wandsmith ( Ollivander ) made a wand specifically for Luna, I think this shows how unique Luna truly is.  The name Luna is Latin for Moon.

Draco Malfoy facts 

Draco was played by Tom Felton in the movies.

Before getting the part of Draco, Tom first auditioned  for Ron , and Harry. Tom Felton hadn’t read the books before auditioning for the movie. Tom Felton had  really light blonde hair, but it wasn’t the Draco’s signature silver hair, so they dyed his hair in the movies.

Chapter 2 : The Sorting Hat ,  the four houses, and hogwarts

The sorting hat , sings a song each year about all of the houses. The sorting hat can look into your mind , and see in which house you belong in.  Here is the song: Sorting hat. Hufflepuff is a house for those who have patience , and who value hard work.  Ravenclaw’s value intelligence wit and wisdom. Gryffindors are for the brave at heart, they possess nerve, and courage. Slytherin are for those who value determination, cleverness , ambition , and resourcefulness. Hogwarts  motto is Draco , Dormiens Nunquam, Titillandus . Or “ Never tickle a Sleeping Dragon”.

Chapter 3 : Fun Facts

Five animals are named after Harry Potter characters , there’s  the Harryplax Severus crab, the Ampulex Dementia Wasp, the furry Lycosa Aragogi , the Lucius Malfoi wasp, and the Eriovixia Gryffindor spider. Hogwarts has 142 staircases. Muggles ( humans) cannot see Hogwarts.  

Each house’s common room is opened in a different way. 

For gryffindors it’s easy, just tell the “ Fat Lady “ the password. For Hufflepuffs it’s a bit more complicated.  The website Wizarding world  states : you must tap one of the barrels near the school kitchens to the rhythm of ‘Helga Hufflepuff’. For Ravenclaws, even more complicated! You need to answer a riddle told to you by an enchanted door knocker. Gryffindors and Slytherins have it easy! 

 Whenever you see Harry, Ron, and Hermione doing schoolwork in the movies, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson were actually doing their homework. The website Parade states that  in the second film, there’s a scene where Harry explains he’s missing a sock. For that scene, Radcliffe had to shave one leg. Voldemort in french, means : Flight Of Death . The website Parade  states : colors have deeper meaning in the HP world. Red represents goodness, which is why Gryffindor’s  are red and the Weasleys have red hair. Green is associated with negative events, like when Harry saw a flash of green when his parents died.
