Paul and Jhon

Paul confidently declared, “Bet I can chop down your trees before you can grow ’em.” I thought it was a silly bet; everyone knows planting trees is tougher than cutting them! Despite my initial reluctance, Paul taunted me, calling me a coward and claiming I was afraid to lose. Feeling challenged, I reluctantly accepted the bet.

For six days, I toiled in sweat, shoveling and ruining shirts, dedicated to growing my trees. The dirt under my nails took a day to clean off. Meanwhile, Paul boasted about how he would win.

In just three days, Paul fulfilled his promise, chopping down my trees. He gloated over his victory, but in my mind, I yelled, “It’s ALWAYS easier to chop something than grow it! That’s why I didn’t want to accept the bet!” With a polite tone, I expressed my thoughts to Paul.

Angrily, Paul retorted, “It’s not hard to stick a seed in the ground and make it grow.” Defiantly, I challenged him to prove it. Paul dug a hole confidently, claiming it would grow in no time. Smirking, I warned him, “Not if it dies of thirst.”

Laughing, I watched as Paul struggled to water the seeds. Rabbits showed up to feast on them, and I chuckled as he chased them away. Mockingly, I added, “Don’t let it die of cold.”

Exhausted, I then decided to leave, heading for water and food, leaving Paul to grapple with the challenges of growing a tree on his own.
